Mauricio Villarroel is the Co-Founder & CEO of SBC and a licensed Mechanical Engineer with a degree from the University of Costa Rica. With over 20 years of experience in the design, inspection, and testing of mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, he has built a reputation for excellence across multiple industries, including medical devices manufacturing, office buildings, hospitals, power plants, hospitality, residential and commercial buildings, and data centers.
His professional expertise spans Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama, and the Caribbean, positioning him as a regional leader in mechanical engineering solutions.
Mauricio’s areas of specialization include:
- HVAC Systems – Design, inspection, testing, and balancing.
- Plumbing Systems – Design, inspection, testing, and balancing.
- Fire Protection Systems – Design, inspection, and testing.
He also holds industry-recognized certifications, including:
- ASHRAE BCxP – Building Commissioning Professional Certification.
- NEBB CPT CT LEEA AP– Cleanroom Performance Testing, Certified Technician.
- NEBB CXCP – Certified Commissioning Professional.

Ismael Arroyo is a Co-Founder of SBC and a licensed Electrical Engineer with a degree from the University of Costa Rica. With over 20 years of experience in the design, inspection, and testing of electrical and telecommunications systems, he brings a wealth of expertise across multiple industries, including manufacturing, office buildings, hospitals, airports, hospitality, public transportation infrastructure, residential and commercial buildings, data centers, mining, and sugar mills.
His professional work extends across Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Antigua and Barbuda, and the Bahamas, making him a regional leader in electrical engineering solutions.
Ismael specializes in:

- Electrical network diagnostics
He also holds industry-recognized Certifications, including:
